Anti-Harassment Training

All Supervisors and Managers MUST be trained by January 1, 2021. Even if they were trained prior to 2019.

New California-specific laws (SB 1343), requires companies with 5 or more employees to provide their supervisors/managers with at least two hours of interactive sexual harassment and bullying prevention training every two years.

Did you know owners need to take the training too? Government Code section 12926(t): “(t) “Supervisor” means any individual having the authority, in the interest of the employer, to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline other employees, or the responsibility to direct them, or to adjust their grievances, or effectively to recommend that action, if, in connection with the foregoing, the exercise of that authority is not of a merely routine or clerical nature, but requires the use of independent judgment.”

Attendees will be sent a certificate of completion.?

Effective Documentation in Employee Relations

PAPER IS THE EMPLOYER'S BEST FRIEND

Effective Documentation in Employee Relations, Discipline, Arbitration and Severance/Releases

“Paper is the Employer’s Best Friend,” focuses on documentation strategies that address potential problems in employer/employee relationships.

ARE YOU USING YOUR DOCUMENTATION EFFECTIVELY?

Effective paperwork is the key to a solid defense in employment litigation. What you do up front can make a difference later, both in the workplace and in the courtroom.

In this informative seminar, Jon will focus on the best documentation strategies for dealing with the most problematic areas of employer/employee relationships.

Among the key topics to be discussed are:

◾Offer letters

◾Warnings and probation

◾Termination

◾Leaves of absence

◾Disability accommodation and the interactive dialogue

◾Arbitration

◾Confidentiality agreements

◾Exempt vs. non-exempt status (involving the employee)
